Zarasai. About the old land of the Selonians, the trade route, the northern Lithuanian resort, lakes, and Lithuanian Switzerland.
In 1932, Zarasai was granted the status of a health resort. One of the most famous buildings of the time is the wooden villa of the Gronskis family. From the tower of this villa, you can see the unique layout of Zarasai - the streets emerge like rays from the central Sėliai Square. Between the two lakes is the State Gymnasium named after Prof. Kazimieras Būga (now the library), it was the most expensive building of the time and the painter Justinas Vienožinskis was the headteacher. The old post office in Zarasai, where holidaymakers used to send postcards to their families. The inscription Paštas (Eng. Post Office) is still visible on the facade of the building.
