Eižens Laube), called The White Liner or even Latvian Versaille. An enormous building seems light as if it were floating. During the interwar period, the Jūrmala resort was called Baltic Riviera. Jūrmala consists of small individual resorts, former villages of fishermen. The distance from the Riga centre is only 25 km, and the length of the seaside is more than 26 km. The oldest Latvian resort Kemeri is known since the 19th century. Before World War I, it was so popular among the wealthy people of the Russian Empire that a railway line was built to it from Moscow.
