The town of the past Grand Duchy of Lithuania is popular now. It belongs to the district of Vitebsk, Vytis is still on the coat of arms. We will visit the house where Klawdziy Duzh-Dushewski, the designer of the national flag of Belarus and famous architect of Kaunas was born. You will see the house of Czesław Miłosz’s parents where the writer used to stay while coming back from Warsaw. You will learn about the post-war underground union of Belarusian Patriots established by pedagogical school students and about today’s Belarusian patriotic movement.
We will visit Algina Bulach, living in the former building of the Riflemen’s Union. Her grandparents, who were living in Lithuania after the war, decided to come back to Belarus. We will also visit Anton Furs, a member of the Belarusian Patriotic movement, a political prisoner.
