Restaurant Nemunas, 1964, a typical building of early Soviet modernism combining a shopping centre, a cafe and a restaurant. The former restaurant is full of authentic details: the chandelier in the main hall, the parquet floor, and the decorative glass and faux-leather walls. During the Soviet era, in 1980, a cotton combine and a cultural centre were established here. The building’s facade features a mosaic, a true rarity in Lithuania, created by artist Vytautas Vanagas. The second-floor foyer is decorated with the fresco Audėjos (Engl. Weavers), which is being restored and is listed in the Register of Cultural Heritage.
